This would suit a couple or a solo traveler. Easy 5 minutes walking distance to the beach, local hotel and dairy. A great central location from which to explore the wonders of the Mahia Peninsula. Free WIFI available.
A local laundromat is available in the township of Opoutama.
There is a small ' swap a book' library for you to use.
We live upstairs from the unit and are available if necessary.

Summary: As part of our trip down the East Coast of New Zealand we had a lovely stay at Paul's place. Quaint ground floor apartment underneath the owner with everything we needed. Bathroom area recently renovated and a short stroll to the beach and shop and pub and even up the local hill to get a stunning view of Mahia -

Summary: My husband and I really enjoyed our stay. It rained the whole time but Paul's place in Mahia was comfy and clean and we were quite happy staying indoors. Bed was comfy and bathroom was lovely, highly recommend :)

Summary: Lovely property - large bedroom, comfortable bed, FABULOUS bathroom - very luxurious - and a kitchen with everything you could possibly need. There was even a guitar, which is now tuned (you’re welcome 😉). Just the spot for a weekend stay.

Summary: We booked this place because our 2 dogs were welcome too. On arrival the bach was clean and we loved the little welcome gifts left by Paul. Paul was very helpful and super friendly to the dogs. The place has everything you need to prepare your own meal. Probably wise to bring some groceries with you because in Mahia the small diary has a limited assortment. Paul recently renovated the bathroom and it looked amazing. We also loved the photos in the bach with a bit of Mahia and family history.

Summary: Wonderful comfortable accommodation. So handy to the beach. Beautifully renovated bathroom was a joy to use. Paul was a fantastic host, so friendly & helpful. Welcomed our dog Poppy & made it very easy for us to have a relaxing holiday with her along too. We were blown away by the gift of 2 crayfish for our dinner on the second night! Summary: Such a well-equipped welcoming bach, ideal for a utterly relaxing holiday - simply unpacking one's bags and enjoying every moment of the days/nights ahead. So close to the beach, to walks and ideal for relaxing outside by the barbeque in the cool of the evening. Paul is a wonderfully generous host and a font of knowledge re the local area/history/places to see. I look forward to visiting again one summer.
